Showcase your Java expertise in this hands-on development role as you drive systems integration and new product introductions at a leading provider of technical document and content management solutions. In this high-impact position, you'll serve as the technical interface with key customers in the defense and government industries-including the likes of the US Air Force, Lockheed Martin and Boeing-and also lead technical teams as you manage the entire development process from requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing to deployment.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

5-7 years of programming experience and knowledge of requirements, design development and systems integration (must understand software, hardware, and third party software integration).
Hands-on programming knowledge of Java.
Working knowledge of JSP, Tomcat, and SGML or XML.
Solid project management skills.
Ability to perform first, second, and third level application support.
Solid communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver polished client presentations and demonstrations.
Ability and willingness to travel (about 25% of the time).
Ability to get US DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred but not required:

Experience with ATA iSpec 2200.
Experience with S1000D.
Familiarity with Document/content management systems.
SGML or XML authoring.
Military background, either on the technical side or with aircraft maintenance.
BS degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering.

More About Your Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Defense Systems, you'll join a team of 3-5 Engineers as you join our Professional Services Group in the Boulder office. You will work extensively with clients as you serve as the communication bridge between our clients' needs and address any gaps in our product portfolio to ensure customer satisfaction; this is definitely a hands-on role where you'll be expected to drive development projects and make things happen.

As you can imagine, this is a hit the ground running position and we'll expect you to accomplish the following goals by the end of the first year:

Successfully deploy our products at customer sites and ensure that the project is delivered on-time and on-budget while meeting or exceeding the customer's expectations.
Build strong partnerships with our long-term customers and identify follow-on work where we can add value.
Establish credibility and develop good working relations with cross-functional teams.
Showcase subject matter expertise within the military domain and communicate that expertise within the organization.

In a nutshell, you'll spend about 60% of your time programming, analyzing and gathering requirements and determining what types of components need to be developed; and the remaining 40% with project management type activities as you keep the team on track with scheduled milestones.
